Do you work with commercial properties only?
Yes. CD Fire and Security Ltd focuses on commercial and industrial premises. We work with warehouses, offices, schools, factories, retail and multi site businesses across Scotland.
What types of systems do you provide?
We design, install and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, intruder alarms and access control. We can work on new installations or take over existing systems that need reliable ongoing support.
Are your fire alarm systems compliant with BS5839-1?
Yes. All fire alarm work is carried out in line with BS5839-1, including system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance. Our service visits include testing, timing checks and clear reporting so you know your system is operating to the correct standard.
Can you take over and service an existing system?
Yes. We regularly take over fire, CCTV and intruder systems that were installed by other companies. We assess the current setup, complete a service visit and then provide advice on any upgrades or remedial work that may be required.
How often should my fire alarm be serviced?
For most commercial systems, routine servicing is recommended at least twice per year, with regular weekly or monthly user tests carried out on site. We can advise on the correct schedule for your building and provide a maintenance contract if required.
Can I monitor CCTV and alarms from my phone?
Yes. Modern CCTV and intruder systems can provide remote access via mobile apps or desktop. You can view live cameras, check recordings and receive alerts when an alarm is activated, subject to the equipment installed and your network connection.
Do you offer 24/7 callout support?
For contracted clients we offer 24/7 support for fire and security systems. If your system develops a fault or goes into alarm out of hours, you will have a number to call so that an engineer can respond as agreed in your contract.
Can you integrate fire, CCTV and intruder systems together?
In many cases, yes. We can design systems so that CCTV, intruder alarms and access control work together, for example by triggering camera recording and alerts if an alarm zone is breached. We will review what is possible based on your existing equipment and budget.
Do you provide documentation for insurance and compliance?
Yes. After installation or servicing we provide service reports, certificates and test records. These support your fire risk assessment, insurance requirements and internal compliance processes.
Which areas of Scotland do you cover?
We work across central Scotland and beyond, covering key areas such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, the Central Belt and surrounding regions. For larger commercial projects we can travel further.
